The Stelline Foundation is a historic institution in Milan strongly rooted in the vibrant heart of the city. Today’s values and modernity blend with the historical and architectural values, making the Palazzo delle Stelline a place of culture and planning quality.
The Stelline Foundation was established in 1986 by the Lombardy Region and the City of Milan in order to maintain and enhance the refurbished Palace and encourage the development of cultural, social and economic enterprises in Milan and Lombardy.
In recent years, the Foundation’s cultural and artistic work has been expanded and more closely defined. It interprets the interest in the contemporary landscape as the presentation of the most original research based on those foundations of the recent past that cannot be forgotten, because they are essential to ensure a fruitful future.
From 1996 the Stelline Foundation promotes and hosts in its exhibition spaces, recently renovated and enlarged, international artistic events devoted in recent years to major artists of the 20th century, to international contemporary artists and new talents in Italy and abroad.
Together with exhibitions, the public character of the Stelline Foundation therefore leads it to conduct a program of initiatives and research devoted to contemporary art, museums, associations and artists present in the Lombardy Region, to ensure visibility, organization, communication and enhancement of existing resources in relation to national and international survey.
